In 2011, Pacifica Services Inc. collaborated with the Los Angeles Community College District’s (LACCD) East Los Angeles College (ELAC) campus to renovate its aging Weingart Stadium. With a budget of $2.8 million, ELAC and Pacifica Services Inc. worked cohesively to renovate a 10,000 square foot terrace, and an outdoor plaza located at the east end-zone of the stadium. Also included in the renovation is the installation of state-of-the-art synthetic grass turf and track resurfacing with the installation of a new marquee and LED signs. With its successful completion in 2013, the plaza now accommodates an outdoor seating capacity of 400. This includes areas for beverage services, concessions, a stage, and restrooms. In total, the Weingart Stadium has a capacity to accommodate 22,000 individuals.
As part of the College Project Management (CPM) Team, Pacifica’s Project Manager was responsible for Construction Management, Constructibility Reviews, DSA Pre-submittal Checks, RFQ’s, Submittals, RFI’s, Change Orders, and Field Engineering. Pacifica also provided vital services in the areas of Budget Management, Schedules and Progress Payments. To ensure the efficient, compliant, and fair progress of the project, Pacifica participated in properly resolving all PLA Union and Contractor Grievances. This also includes the resolution of jurisdictional disputes regarding Scope of Work.
With its constant goal to exceed the greatest expectations of its clients, Pacifica further interfaced with Building User Groups, LACCD, and Field Turf USA to deepen its understanding of the college’s needs. The result was a project delivered on time and within budget that met the needs of all users.
In addition to the Weingart Stadium, Pacifica Services Inc. has successfully worked on projects at the Los Angeles Coliseum and the Rose Bowl Stadium in the City of Pasadena.
