Los Angeles World Airports Facilities Management Program – Los Angeles, CA

Twilight sky, multiple light poles in straight lines vanishing into horizon. Blurry airplane landing mid-distance between light posts.

LAX is currently amid a $14.3 billion expansion and modernization program involving a variety of projects. As a result of this expansion, LAWA’s Facilities Maintenance and Utilities Group (FMUG) realized they needed to find and eliminate inefficiencies in maintaining aged facilities, to understand the costs for assuming responsibility for new facilities, and minimize the material and staffing cost of maintenance. Early in the Facilities Management Program, FMUG developed user requirements for a software tool to execute these best practices, and chose the Maximo® Enterprise Asset Management System as their new Facilities Management System (FMS).

Pacifica provided support for implementation of Facilities Management business processes and the collection of data at LAX, including researching and compiling Facility/System/ Component (F/S/C) and Work Management configuration data required to support a successful roll-out of the FMS. The team followed the Maximo Asset Management documentation to identify and detail configuration information. Information collected included all F/S/C attribute data available for LAWA facilities, job plans, a list of LAWA shops, crews, staff and the appropriate information associated with each, and a list of vendors and contractors with associated information.
