Camp Joseph Scott Recreation Building Renovation – Santa Clarita, CA

Originally built in 1958, Camp Joseph Scott is a juvenile rehabilitative camp including six concrete and steel buildings, including a dormitory, school dining hall, recreation building and administrative building. The camp was closed temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic and its all-girl population was transferred elsewhere. Once the renovation project is complete, the camp will be reopened as the only county detention facility for all girls, young women and gender-expansive youth non-serious offenders.

The renovation of the recreation building/gymnasium includes roofing membrane replacement, new HVAC system, door and window replacement, gymnasium flooring base, replacement of acoustical tiles, casework refurbishment, interior painting, lighting upgrades, replacement of electrical panels, liquid and gas site utilities and exterior sidewalk replacement and repair.
