The award-winning Student Union (previously called the Monarch Center) is a new two-story, 45,241 gsf building serving as a hub of activity for students, faculty, staff and visitors at the “heart” of the campus. It is the third LEED Silver building on the campus. The building includes the Student Union, dining facilities and multi-purpose facilities. The project also included related sitework and utilities.

The project scope included over-excavation and re-compaction of the building footprint for the new 2-story complex along with associated groundwork for landscaping with a detention basin. The project included a new foundation, underground utilities for plumbing, electrical and mechanical, including fire alarm and fire sprinklers. New switch gear and transformers were also installed.

Pacifica was onsite throughout the construction process providing quality control and coordinating questions associated with the architect’s construction documents, negotiating change orders, monitoring the project schedule, leading weekly project meetings and coordinating detailed requirements for the shop equipment and the equipment procurement/installation process.
